Note that all of the referee courses are listed on the Massachusetts State Referee Committe website. The updated list of course times and locations can be found HERE.
To register for one of these courses, complete the on-line registration process at www.massref.net.

This is an entry-level Recreational Referee course that prepares you for officiating small sided games (typically 6-8 players per team on the field). After successfully completing this course, you will be certified to referee any of the games in our Intramural program, at which we use referees, as well as U10 travel games run by the Essex County Youth Soccer Association [ECYSA] (of which North Reading Youth Soccer is a member).
Grade 9 Qualifications:
To become a grade 9 referee, participants must be at least 12 years of age but not yet 16 years old. No previous referee experience is needed.
Grade 8 Course
This is a higher level course that prepares you for officiating competitive full-sided (11v11) games. After successfully completing this course, you will be certified to referee any ECYSA games.
Students are required to complete an online self-study in advance of this course, plus attend eight hours of classroom instruction, and pass an online written test to become certified.
